Dana White: First round of Aldo-McGregor 'could be one of best rounds you've ever seen'

LONDON – Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor is being billed as the biggest featherweight bout in UFC history. UFC President Dana White believes the first five minutes of that UFC 189 headliner could be something even more massive that that.

“When you go after Jose Aldo – when you go after him and try to take him out – that’s when he fights his best,” White told WHOATV. “You know that Conor is going to go in and try and take him out. I think the first round of Aldo-Conor could be one of the best rounds you’ve ever seen.”

UFC 189 takes place July 11 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena and airs on pay-per-view.

Our good friends at WHOATV caught up with White following today’s UFC 189 World Championship Tour stop in London. The UFC boss talked about his decision to no longer host media scrums, why McGregor is a more deserving contender than some might contend, just how big women’s MMA has become for the promotion and more.
