This is straight up bs those judges are insane, new judges please CSAC, they should be in some way affiliated with MMA not boxing and more importantly have a better understanding of MMA fights. A great idea is if retired fighters would apply to be judges for MMA fights.

Interesting that Nelson Hamilton was the only judge to correctly score in favor of Rampage in round 1 of his fight with Griffin, yet was the only one to inexplicably give Machida one of the later rounds against Shogun.

Just a tidbit i thought was funny.

people are accussing the UFC of fixing the fight, I doubt that to be true....its usually just a bunch of people (judges in this case) that fuck shit up out of sheer stupidity

The saddest part about this whole thing is that nothing will be done about it to ensure things like this never happen again. At least not any time soon, soon being the next 5 years. So an ending like this could happen at the next ppv event or the next event held anywhere.

I know one group of people that are very happy about the outcome..The casino owners

Machida should of at least tried to give Shogun the belt... Kind of Like Rampage after his fight with Murilo Rua..(Ninja) All Machida had to say after rogan asked if he though he won, ( 3 judges ) and that's all I could make out..

BS Shogun is the real Champ

If forrest got the nod in the rampage fight then Rua should be the new LHW champ.

I thought it was pretty clear Rua edged Lyoto in the first two rounds. That's ridiculous scoring.

You guys think that this will actually spark a change, or are we going to have to go through this crap again?

Rampage vs Forrest was at least debateable :|

Ive watched this fight numerous times and still see it in the exact same light, Machida won rounds 1,2 and 3 and lost 4 and 5.

I am a Muay Thai practitioner myself and absolutely love Shoguns display of Muay Thai and persona inside and outside of the octogan but I still see Machida winning the first 3 rounds.

I think nelson hamilton was the only judge that was wrong. Shogun won the fourth. I don't know how people can be so sure the Shogun was robbed. I felt that Machida won rounds 1-3 and shogun won the final two. He simply wasn't trying to finish the fight he was point fighting. I couldn't hear the commentary when I watched it live but I watched it again last night and Joe and Goldie seemed to really favor Shogun. Machida was starting to tee off on Shogun and wasn't taking any shots and then he hit Machida once and Joe screamed, "SHOGUN LANDED A RIGHT HAND!!!" He was acting like the one punch counted for more than all of Machida's punches. It doesn't negate the fact that Machida hit him 5 or 6 times right before that. They were the same way when Rampage lost to Forrest thinking that Forrest was rocked everytime he got hit even though he was fine.

It's hard to take MMA seriously with decisions like that.

I'm gonna stop worrying about it. 3 people's opinions don't change what actually happened in the ring.

Sucks for Shogun though bc now he has to beat Machida twice in a row to get the belt.

Those flurries you are talking about, Machida's shots weren't really landing, Shogun was connecting.

Striking- Shogun threw more, landed more, landed a higher percentage, and landed more power shots total and to the head (check fightmetric)...and shogun inflicted more damage

grappling- very little grappling but shogun controlled the clinch

aggression- shogun threw more strikes and was constantly backing machida up

octagon control- shogun constantly backing up machida, pressing him against the cage during the clinch

Shogun basically won all elements of the fight. The only thing Machida did better at was landing a few more knees to the body.

Worst decision in MMA championship history

How many strikes did Machida land in the 2nd round?
