Got a lil weepy listening to this. He was a musical genius with a truly unique voice.

Rip, I also never met the man but his music has drastically improved my life.

More Chris Cornell magic.

This is a tough loss for me. Too many times I played the first Audioslave album over and over. Some artists just speak to you.

I considered this my theme song for a time :-(

I've never really cared too much when famous singers/actors die but this shit really has me down.

Just like willis, I use to play their first album nonstop. Especially if I was on the road to hustle some shoes 8)

Fuck this really blows!

Super unknown was one of the albums that defined music for me in the 90's. I would sell my soul to be able to hit the note Chris was able to. Very very sad day for a guy who grew up in the grunge era. When I heard Jesus Christ Pose for the first time, it totally blew my mind. Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and a great solo career. God damn it, Jonny Cash covered one of his tunes. I can't believe someone so popular, with so much success in life would end it themselves. The mind is a weird trap. I almost went to see him last summer, but the G N' R reunion tour got win the way. Another missed musical hero.
Anger he smiles towering in shiny metallic purple armour
Queen jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground
Blue are the life giving waters, taken for granted
They quietly understand

The Day I Tried To Live changed who I was as a person one beautiful sunny morning on a lake where 4 generations of my family fished and hunted. I was introverted, had no self esteem, cared way too much what people thought of me, and always second guessed myself. As I sat alone in my dads boat, after casting another fresh worm into the depths of my family's fishing grounds, these lyrics flowed through my head and made me live a different life - "I woke the same, as any other day except a voice was in my head. It said seize the day, pull the trigger, drop the blade and watch the rolling heads". I came off that lake a different man that day.

It's weird I've been listening to the accoustic version of black hole sun, black days, imagine and redemption song.

Not a deep, mind blowing song, but Ty Cobb was always a go to in days gone by...

(Not workplace friendly if you are not familiar with it.)
