One of my favorite moments in mma history was this " black belt" getting choked to death by chael.

Shogun may or may not be in the top 10 lhw ever

One of MY favorite moments was when the Shogun hit Liddell and Sent him flying back and then finished him off with a series of vicious hammer fists.

I was there and watched it live in Montreal. What a beauty

Watching a 40 year old man get hit with 6 illegal blows was one of your favorite moments?

Cant argue, guess we all love the incredibly flukey finishes.

lets not forget that Shogun's best weapons were his stomps and soccer kicks. and he had none of that in the UFC.

sad fight. Chuck got the takedown and instead of inflicting some damage.. he decided to stand back up.. Young Chuck would have wrestlefucked Shogun to a decision.

i absolutely would be on board if not for that horrible wrestling match loss against chael... one of the worst fights of all time... not even cause chael won, but because shogun did not throw one punch...

I agree that was pretty bad.
But I choose to forgive and forget. Like when Leben KO'd wandy. and when BJ lost to fr.. wait.. what? that last one never happened.

Shogun being able to solve the Machida puzzle back when everyone thought Lyoto was going to be Anderson Silva 2.0. That really solidified his legacy.

That being said he lost a lot of credibility when he flat out refused to fight Glover and instead opted to fight Brandon Vera. He lost a lot of merit with that move.

Good post. That Machida KO was special.

Teixeira was a killer at one time and Shogun wanted none of it. Flat out duck.
