Since the start of 2017...

the following have fought a combined 0 times:

Michael Bisping (c)
Conor McGregor (c)
Cody Garbrandt (c)
Amanda Nunes (c)
Khabib Nurmagomedov
Tony Ferguson
Dominick Cruz
TJ Dillashaw
Cain Velasquez
Nate Diaz
Luke Rockhold
Joseph Benavidez
Henry Cejudo

Four are champions and the rest are all either number one contender in their division or very close to it. It's almost 8 months into the year and some are booked for the Fall while some aren't booked at all.

Has the inactivity of fighters near the top ever been this bad? It doesn't seem like it but maybe I'm missing something. I definitely was told by a certain bald man at some point that the ultimate proving ground is where the best fight the best three times a year (or something along those lines). No one on that list will fight more than once this year.

Spoiler:
There are 13 fighters listed which might be the answer.

I imagine most of this comes down simply to poor people management skills, in terms of sitting down wih fighters and negotiating better deals which incentivise them to fight (Nate being the prime example)...Since the takeover the UFC has slowly been declining in this regard (or so it would seem from the outside), and added to that a lot of those fighters close to the upper echelon of popularity are seeing what the very top guys (Conor) are making and they want in on that money...

Like how have they not got Tony signed up for another fight yet? The dude was as popular as he had ever been leading into and straight after the Khabib fight got cancelled...They should have done whatever they had to do to get that man a fight, via either a replacement for Khabib (and pay tony properly for that fight), or get him another fight within the next month or two afterwards. Instead they lost a lot of the hype that tony had built up over the past year by having him sit out for what will end up being over a year now probably...

Since the start of 2017, Hawdrigoh hasn't been on linker.

As a result of this, this entire OP has happened.

I ask you, members of this shit posting site, is it his fault?

Spoiler:
Yes, it is.

You're right! Good catch. Thankfully he took a break this year and didn't fight twice.
