Two streaking 170-pound Judo stylists are looking to make another splash in their respective divisions after tallying up big wins in their latest appearances inside the UFC’s Octagon.

Hector “Lightning” Lombard and Dong Hyun Kim is being looked at for UFC Fight Night on August 23, 2014 in Macau, China — a fight that would pit the seventh and eighth-ranked welterweights against one another, as told by the “UFC Tonight” show on Wednesday evening.

Kim has brought home two Knockout of the Night bonuses back to back, and is currently riding a five-fight win streak. The South Korean’s last loss was a quick TKO loss to Demian Maia at UFC 148: Sonnen vs Silva 2.

Lombard made his move from the middleweight division following two dull decision losses to Tim Boetsch and Yushin Okami, scoring a brutal first-round knockout win over former Strikeforce champ Nate Marquardt in his welterweight debut at UFC 166: Velasquez vs Dos Santos 3. He followed that up with a smothering victory over Jake Shields at UFC 171: Hendricks vs Lawler.

How do we like the matchmaking? Well, without a doubt, the Nick Diaz and Matt Brown matchups would have been guaranteed fireworks. But, with Kim changing his game from sheer takedowns and ground-and-pound to taking more risks with his berserk striking, this bout has the potential to be just as interesting in every aspect.
