Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera and starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann left Sunday’s 9–4 win over the Rays due to injury.

Zimmermann, who had allowed two runs on three hits through 5 2/3, strained his right groin while delivering a pitch to Steve Pearce with two outs in the sixth inning. He had to be lifted from the game immediately.

Later, in the bottom of the seventh, Cabrera was hit by a pitch on his knee. He initially remained in the game before being lifted for a pinch runner due to what the Tigers called a left knee contusion. He is day-to-day.

Cabrera went 3-for-3 before leaving, raising his batting average  to .315. Zimmermann earned his seventh win of the season and improved his ERA to 2.52.
