'UFC 189 Embedded,' No. 1: Reebok photo shoots and breaking the Jose Aldo news

Next week is arguably the UFC’s biggest fight week of the year. And that means a jump start with the debut episode of “UFC 189 Embedded” and a preview of next week’s pay-per-view event.

The online series previews the event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, including the main event: an interim featherweight title bout between Conor McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and Chad Mendes (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC), who answered the call when champ Jose Aldo pulled out earlier this week with an injury.

In addition, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) takes on Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) in the co-main event.

In the debut episode, McGregor, Lawler and MacDonald all descend on New York to take part in the UFC and Reebok reveal of the promotion’s new fighter uniforms. Then McGregor heads back to Vegas, where he and UFC President Dana White go on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” to break the news about Aldo. In addition, we check in with Mendes at his home base at Team Alpha Male in California on the day he found out he was no longer just a contingency plan.
