2013 NCAA wrestling results: Day 1 recap of the national championships

The big match the entire tournament is centered on is, for now, anyway. Still in play. Despite a first session filled with upsets, 165 pound standouts in Cornell’s Kyle Dake and Penn State’s David Taylor are moving on to tomorrow’s quarterfinals. In addition to the strong Penn State effort led by Taylor, but followed by Quentin Wright and Ed Ruth, Oklahoma State is turning in a banner performance. Making the quarterfinals for the Cowboys are Tyler Caldwell, Jordan Oliver, Chris Perry, Alan Gelogaev, Jon Morrison, Alex Dierneger and Blake Rosholt. Penn State still maintains the team lead with 26.5 points. Oklahoma State currently occupies the No. 2 position with 20. Full session II results are as follows: 125lbsChamp.
